It’s that time of year when the ants grace us with their presence in large numbers. Whether it’s carpenter ants, black ants or any other type, the easiest and most effective way to banish them until the fall is a simple, natural recipe It’s been tried and tested in our home and it works wonders! They will return in the fall, but just put this bait out again and they’ll be gone within a day or two.
NOTE: Borax is NOT pet/kid friendly if ingested.
Bring the following to a boil in a sauce pan stirring constantly:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon of borax
- 1 cup of water
Soak up cotton balls in the mixture and place in shallow dishes throughout your house (interior/exterior, wherever ant issue is). REMEMBER: Not pet/kid friendly. In a day or two your ants will be gone. They are attracted to the sugar and take it back to the nest which kills the queen.
